Ingredients

1½ lbs ground beef (80/20) 4 brioche or potato buns Salt and black pepper (to taste) 4 slices cheddar cheese Lettuce leaves 4 tomato slices Dill pickle slices Red onion slices Ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise (optional) Butter (for toasting buns)

Instructions

Use 80/20 ground beef for flavor. Form 4 patties, about ¾ inch thick. Season both sides with salt and pepper right before grilling.

Slice and butter brioche or potato buns. Toast cut-side down on a skillet or grill until golden for extra texture and flavor.

Grill patties on high heat for 3–4 minutes per side. Add cheese in the last minute of cooking and cover until it melts completely.

Layer bottom bun, lettuce, tomato, patty with cheese, pickles, onions, and condiments. Top with bun and gently press down to seal.

Serve with crispy fries or coleslaw. For extra flavor, try adding bacon, avocado, or a fried egg. Enjoy your homemade gourmet burger!
